Book Review on Little Women

Title: Little Women
Author: Louisa May Alcott
Setting: Massachusetts U.S
Publisher: Signet Classics
Little Women is a historical classic. It tells us about the time of the Civil War in the 19th century. While their father is off to fight in the war, young Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy learn to carry their loads as pilgrims do. The four little women run into a lot of problems for example Meg gets in trouble with gossip, Jo has a really bad temper, Beth fights with sickness and Amy with her arrogance and of course Aunt  March!
However the whole family sticks together till the end of the war waiting for their father to return, hoping that everything will be well, or as well as life can be.
All characters were really very admirable; take Meg’s beauty and innocence, or Jo’s sacrifices, or Beth’s gentleness and selflessness and young Amy’s lady like mature behavior. Of these characters I like Jo best. Jo is a lot like me; she has a big temper, though she can make big sacrifices when the time comes (I don’t think I can do that). Jo also likes to read and write a story which is my personal hobby. We also have the same brown hair.
My favorite part of the book is when Jo has a fight with Amy and she makes a big ego issue of it. After Amy burns Jo’s book (which Jo has worked upon since she was young), Jo refuses to talk to Amy at any cost. And then Jo makes a grave mistake and Amy nearly dies! But thanks to Laurie, Amy is saved, but Jo is now feeling really very guilty. That’s when Jo’s attitude changes and she learns to control her anger seeking her mother for help. I like this part because controlling ones anger and turning a new leaf is pretty difficult but Jo manages it no matter what. This event teaches us that we should be in control of our feelings, and it should not be the opposite.

This is a really good book, and I would recommend it to young readers specifically teens and preteens. However it is also a good book for mothers as it teaches excellent parenting skills in matters of controlling attitudes and keeping children hopeful no matter what the conditions may be.

The Latest News of Pakistan: Heat, Death and Rainmaking

Karachi, Friday 26th: Lately, death has taken its toll in the province of Sindh. Sinch last week over two thousand people have died due to heat strokes or droughts, and load shedding only adds to the misery. The heat of June has been growing unbearable for the public, with no rain and less winds. Thus the government of Pakistan and the NDMA(Natural Disaster Management Authority) have decided to try out cloud seeding for the first time in Pakistan. But what is cloud seeding? Cloud Seeding is also known as chemical rain, rainmaking, or artificial precipitation. Cloud Seeding is away to produce artificial rain, mostly done to avoid droughts, increase reservoir irrigation water, increase water supply capacity or to increase water levels for power generation. Cloud Seeding is done by using air planes or rockets which sow into the clouds catalysts such as dry ice, silver iodide and salt powder. These catalysts induce nucleation and what little water is in the air condenses and crystall

And they have no respect for the status quo. You can quote them, disagree with them, glorify or vilify them. About the only thing you can't do is ignore them. Because they change things. They push the human race forward. And while some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
