Ideas from another Country

I believe that one cannot improve himself if he does not learn from his surroundings. I am not saying that my country is not good. It is great! No other country can provide for its inhabitants the luxuries available in Pakistan. However my country has yet to grow, it has yet to learn. We can improve our country; by introducing to it a few customs from other countries. The two things I would like my country to assimilate in its self are very important for its growth.

Only recently a law has been established in UK and Canada, which states that smoking in the presence of an underage, especially within closed quarters, is strictly banned. I would like this law to be a part of our judiciary because the harm smoking causes is disastrous. It has been discovered by scientists that passive smoking is more dangerous than active smoking. A person who is in the constant presence of an active smoker is in more danger than the smoker himself. Also if a young person is seeing somebody smoking his curious mind will encourage him to do the same thing. It is also a known fact that most smokers got addicted to this habit in their early years, if they had not mouthed their first cigarette in their teens they might have been safe from this evil. Thus to avoid cancer, lung and heart diseases it is necessary for this law to be established.

As you can see British and American literature is very popular these days. In fact it has been so for quite a while now. This way American and British culture and tradition is known around the globe. I would like to encourage literature writing, especially for the young generation in my country. Not only this but I would like these authors to get their books translated in different languages so that the world will be able to know about our lifestyle just like they know about the English lifestyle.

I believe that if these two things become a common practice in Pakistan, we as a country will be drastically improved. This will be a great step towards success.
