What's at Stake: The Faith of the Palestinians

We have read about the persecutions the first Muslim Community faced, and we have read about their perseverance in the face of their oppressors, as part of our curriculum, many times. But what we have not understood is how easy it would be (from a worldly perspective) for them to let go of the faith they followed to be awarded all the luxuries of life. Or how easy it would be for them to loose hope in Allah and his existence following the famoulsy quoted 'if Allah was there He wouldn't let this happen to us' theory.

You can argue that this sort of faith is impossible to achieve in times of today because the people back then had the Holy Prophet (SAW) as a living example of Allah's existence in front of them. But don't forget that among the original community of the Holy Prophet (SAW) were the staunchest enemies of Islam.

And I saw 'that sort' of faith in the Pale$tinians, when I witnessed their persecutions the very valid question of what kept their hope and faith in Allah intact arose in my mind too. And their stories reminded me of the stories of Bilal Bin Rabah, and Zunairah the slave girl, Summaiyah the first Muslim woman to be martyred and many others including those whose limbs were tied to four different horses and the horses made to run in four different directions. The pictures of women standing in front of the I0F reminded me of the Prophet's(SAW) aunt who slew an enemy trying to get into the mosque during the Battle of Trench.

But with these reminders also came an ever increasing fear for the faith of the Pale$tinians. A couple of days ago, I shared a poem on my story (Flowers in Aleppo by Tariq Toure) and it shook me. The effect the abuse has on their emotional and mental well being can be so easily damaging to a person's beliefs and faith.

So when I ask you to pray for the firm faith of the Pale$tinians, I want us to keep all this in mind and pray really hard to Allah to protect their faith and keep it as strong as ever. To enable them to continue to protect their country and Al Aqsa and allow us to do something worthwhile to help them and to ease their journey towards victory! Aameen

  1. A tribute to the faith of Palestinians, the way they're suffering from all this trauma, in today's era, it surely is threatening to the faith, but yet again, Allah supports the oppressive, and he also never burdens us any more than we can bear
It is indeed a test for the entire Muslim ummah in various ways, may god have his mercy upon the land of Palestine, and ease the pain for it's Muslims, Ameen

Sinch last week over two thousand people have died due to heat strokes or droughts, and load shedding only adds to the misery. The heat of June has been growing unbearable for the public, with no rain and less winds. Cloud Seeding is away to produce artificial rain, mostly done to avoid droughts, increase reservoir irrigation water, increase water supply capacity or to increase water levels for power generation. Cloud Seeding is done by using air planes or rockets which sow into the clouds catalysts such as dry ice, silver iodide and salt powder. These catalysts induce nucleation and what little water is in the air condenses and crystall...
